Licensure Categories
NOTE: Class “G” Statewide Firearm License is NOT the Florida Conceal Weapon OR Firearm License; however, Class “G” Statewide Firearm License certification meets, and exceeds, education and certification requirements for the Florida Conceal Weapon OR Firearm License.

Must submit proof of successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of professional education, and training, provided by a security enforcement academy, or training facility, licensed by the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.
Class “G” Statewide Firearm License:
Must submit proof of having completed an initial course of instruction that includes 28 hours of classroom and range training pertaining to the use of firearms in connection with duties regulated under Chapter 493, Florida Statutes (F.S.). by a security enforcement academy, or training facility, licensed by the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.
NOTE: Students must complete the Class “D” Security Officer License education & training requirements beforehand.

For BOTH Class “D” Security Officer License, AND Class “G” Statewide Firearm License, require passing a written Final Exam.
NOTE: Class “G” Statewide Firearm License requires additional passing of Firearm Range Qualifications.
Upon successful completion of the course(s), SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy issues your Couse Completion Certificate for you to submit, with your Application, to the State.
The State of Florida requires Initial Applicants to have security agency employment endorsement PRIOR to submitting the State Application Package(s).

Class “D” Florida Security Officer License:
There are three options to submit your Class “D” Security Officer State Application and SECURITY RESOURCES Training Academy’s Course Completion Certification:
1. Online Submission:

Visit the a State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Regional Office.
At the Regional Offices, they will provide the following services:
NOTE: The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, Regional Office will issue a TEMPORARY Class “D” Security Officer License while the Application is being processed.
This TEMPORARY Class “D” Security Officer License allows the Applicant to apply for security agency employment immediately.

Class “G” Statewide Firearm License:
There are two options to submit your Class “G” Statewide Firearm License State Application and Completion Certification:
1. In-Person:
Visit a State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Regional Office. At the Regional Offices, they will provide the following services:
NOTE: The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, Regional Office will issue a TEMPORARY Class “G” Statewide Firearms License while the Application is being processed.
Additionally, a physician provided physical and a psychological exam with be required.
This TEMPORARY Class “G” Statewide Firearm License allows the Applicant to apply for agency employment immediately.
